SONIA, CONTEMPORARY MOSAICS

Mar. 04, 2015 · Creations

The pieces from the new Sonia collection, based on a design by Cristina Julià which takes its inspiration from groupings of geometric structures. Made using the lost-wax casting technique, these are dynamic pieces which add a touch of colour to your spring wardrobe. The pieces are made up of groupings of small squares, each featuring an etched diagonal groove. There are three finishes to choose from: matte silver and turquoise and yellow cold enamel; matte gold metal and pink and turquoise cold enamel, and matte gold metal. Angela Ferrara's vintage-inspired abstract prints were an important source of inspiration for developing this collection. You can view Ferrara's work on Etsy and also on facebook. In a way, Cristina Julià. has transposed her striking triangular forms into jewellery. She deconstructed her pieces, juggled with them, painted them in pastel colours and completed the process by creating the intriguing necklaces, earrings, rings and pendants shown here.
