TEIXIDORS

Sep. 17, 2013 · Style

Teixidors is a textile cooperative that was set up to facilitate the social integration of people with learning difficulties. Their work is extraordinarily creative and revolves around manual weaving techniques. Using the highest quality yarns – eco-friendly merino wool, cashmere, linen, silk and Mongolian yak wool – the Teixidors team creates home textiles, scarves and accessories that are as authentic as they are unique, made using a completely manual process. You can buy them from their online shop and also at décor and accessory stores all over the world. The essence of Teixidors is their artisanal work. Using classic wooden looms they weave with the finest raw materials, following a strictly manual process that has made all their members expert weavers ( in Catalan, hence the name) with the ability to adapt to the peculiarities of each piece and weave with the necessary precision and force in each case. The resulting pieces could not be warmer, more delicate or more beautiful. At Joid'art we love both their philosophy and their products. Apart from the beauty of everything created by Teixidors, the image on their website, on Facebook, in their blog and in all their corporate communications has recently been distinguished with two Laus Design Awards in 2013.
