TELLE, THE FREEDOM OF JEWELLERY

Mar. 26, 2014 · Creations

The pieces in the new Telle SS14 collection are fresh and free. Indra Karp designed them for Joid'art, conceptually capturing all the joy and light of a Mediterranean summer. The Telle pieces were created from two overlapping semicircles, joined along the long edge by a rounded thread. They are available in two finishes, one more colourful and the other more neutral. The first is in matt golden metal painted with cold enamel in turquoise and coral, while the second is in matt silver. All these creations have a strong manual component to them, as the Joid'art artisans engraved them one by one to achieve their unique and individual texturing, which gives them even more character and authenticity. To create the shapes of the Telle pieces, Indra Karp found inspiration in the summertime celebrations held by the sea, in the pennants that adorn Mediterranean towns on festive days and the magical effect when they are moved by the wind. Having created them, Indra “stitched” the shapes together as if with a fabric braid. The result, transformed into earrings, bracelets, pendants and rings, could not be more evocative.
