NOUVEAU BY DALIA JURADO

Apr. 05, 2017 · Creations

When we asked jeweller Dalia Jurado to design a collection for Joid'art SS17, she decided to take an artistic trip back in time and found inspiration in the world of Art Nouveau. The Nouveau jewellery collection was born out of this inspiration, which she herself describes as . You might be asking yourself who exactly Guimard was… Well, in fact, he was a French architect and decorator who became the main representative figure of Art Nouveau in France. Among his designs we find works as emblematic as the metro entrances in Paris. In addition to this, he also designed furniture and lamps. And it is precisely on the basis of the design of these light fittings, with their warmth and combination of different materials, that Dalia Jurado has created the essence of this new jewellery collection.
Nouveau includes earrings, rings, necklaces and bracelets in silver or gold-plated metal, containing circular pieces made of Formica. Yes! Formica! The material we usually associate with the world of decoration now takes on a new dimension in the hands of Dalia, who converts it into a ‘precious’ and lightweight element framed within structures characterised by their rounded edges. Dalia enjoys innovating and creating jewellery which is unique, eclectic and innovative in terms of the material used and the processes followed. Nouveau is a clear example of this. You can choose from three different finishes: Satin silver and antique white Formica; Gold-plated satin metal and black Formica; Black-plated satin silver with fossil-coloured Formica. Suggestion: black for evening wear and the other two tones for any other moment. ;) You can find this new collection at joidart.com and in Joid'art stores. … Dalia Jurado is a creator and jeweller. Nouveau is the first collection she has created for Joid'art and it will certainly not be the last one. She studied jewellery design at the Escola Massana Art and Design Centre and 2D-3D computer-aided design at the CIM Foundation. She was a finalist in the Enjoia’t awards in 2010 and 2016. She was selected by FAD's Barcelona Designer Collective 2016, has been part of the artistic jewellery group Bórax 08001 and has exhibited in international galleries such as Velvet da Vinci (San Francisco).
